Discovering Idyllic Alghero
By Madlen Hirtentreu on Oct 12, 2014

It is quite easy to fall into la bella vita vibrations in Alghero. I experienced the magic of this small Mediterranean town in the North West of Sardinia in October. The high season had passed and therefore the authentic experience was easy to come by.

Alghero has been influenced a lot by Catalan culture throughout history. Streetlights and street names refer to the culture as well as local bakeries, local cuisine and the genuine goldsmiths found over there. Catalan language is also co-official in the town.

Facts about Sardinia:

It’s the 2nd largest island in the Mediterranean.
Its approximate 2000km of coastline leaves you speechless.
Some call it Europe’s Caribbean due to its unspoiled nature.

Quoting the locals: "Trains don't follow schedules here, if they come: hop on, if not, wait and eat."

Enjoy my experience through analog photography.
