A lot of ass shaking has reached social media and our screens lately. From twerking to provocative squatting, the display of fannies seems to be the most efficient way to seize attention these days. Musicians can now literally give credit to the term Money Maker.
It looks like the high budget music videos we used to love and watch in the nineties have long disappeared, along with their elaborate storylines and impressive direction.
Let’s thank all the glorious simpletons who fuel shallow celebrity culture, the desperately perverse managers who will sell out their mother for a paycheck and the hardcore porn industry for so resourcefully replacing the art of music videos with the #ass
sensation. These videos have caused much controversy over their discrimination of women, demeaning nature and artistic value or lack thereof.
For example, the official music video for Pour It Up by Rihanna was filmed in May 2013, although it wasn’t released until September 2013 due to the disagreements between the music video’s original director Vincent Haycock and Rihanna herself. Things got heated and disputes “poured” out on Twitter. Haycock tweeted that he was no longer involved with the project due to "creative differences", Rihanna later replied to him by stating: "Just take your name off the check while u at it! Whatever your issue is leave my fans out of it". How or why this ass phenomenon continues to thrive and stay in demand remains a mystery.
